Every dollar makes a difference.
Help us build the facility dedicated to youth and leadership development.
Need
The youth of Yolo County are the future of our communities. The adult leaders of Yolo County are obliged to provide the full mosaic of support and development that will enable the
next generation to solve the problems they inherit. Self-reliance,
collaborative problem-solving and leadership are foundational skills that will
enable them to solve problems. Scouting is one among many organizations that build
these skills in young people. The Scout Cabin Foundation believes a physical
facility dedicated to youth development and leadership is an essential asset to
support the full range of programs working with youth – reaching different demographics,
through different interests, with different programs, but with the same
overarching and essential goal.
Requirements
·
A building with a “great room” to
accommodate 150 people, one or more side meeting rooms, unit storage closets
for meeting materials, restrooms, and minimal kitchen facilities.
·
An outside activity area with
flagpoles, picnic tables, one or more fire pits, and parking.
·

Resources
The Foundation holds funds
from the transfer of the original Scout Cabin on Second Street to the City of Davis. The Foundation was established with encouragement and support from Scout Troops 66
and 139 and Crew 66, which met in the cabin for 75 years.
The Foundation seeks to raise
$950,000 to develop and endow the maintenance of a facility that will serve the
original units and to the extent it is feasible, other youth organizations.
